To be or not to be?

February 28th, 2008 by jayden-yang

Well as Jo mentioned, this lil inconsequential space i own(at least i’d like to think so) of the interconnected expanse that is the internet has certainly gone for a long time without a proper update. Partly intentional, as i have found it rather burdensome at times to update every so often(read: lazy jackbutt) and partly due to the fact that my life doesnt "happen". Another reason is that some of my friends have stopped blogging as well(yes Chern, Uncle Leeroy wants back his deep fried chicken). I do admit however that i do miss the whole experience and there are times when i do find something interesting that i would like to have shared it with friends. Therefore all things considered, i would start updating again, heck i might even get myself a proper space on Blogspot or Livejournal or whatever unlike this shoddy piece of infrastructure that groans under the weight of a multitude of unimaginative social profiles(mine included), IF, and this is an important if, i knew that enough people would actually care to read what i have to say. So this is basically a poll of sorts. If you want to see me blogging again, feel free to leave a comment…or come over and kick me off my fat arse, whichever way works fine=)

Blag updated//xD

An epilogue of sorts

June 14th, 2007 by jayden-yang

Well here i am blagging again after being absent from the blagospere for ages…cant say i really have any valid reason not to have blagged but rather it’s more a lack of any particular reason to blag at all…
Yes, life has been pretty uneventful with the most notable exception being that later today i’ll be officially ending my A-level course with the final Economics paper of my final exams. However, that, as one might usually expect, doesnt really warrant any cause for celebration as there isnt anything worth celebrating(musing: isnt it kinda odd that people celebrate endings? it’s sorta implying that they were looking forward to it ending in the first place even when they enjoyed the experience) …or remembering for that matter…
Yup, A-levels for me has been just a sad case of being there on time for classes. I have to admit that i liked most of my subjects…especially History and Economics but that was basically it. There wasnt anything else to look forward to(including eye candy…there were quite a few of them around IPG but strangely there wasnt much of that in my class. bummer). Did i make any friends? A few…but none who’d include me in their list of Top Ten Friends. Did anything notable happen? Aside from a fellow classmate bringing her dog to class once, no. How well did i do grades-wise? Well, i’ll just let my results speak for themselves…which should be out in 3 months or so i assume. Do i have any regrets? Well maybe. I might have tried to put in more effort at making friends(though the notion at having to "work" at making friends still strikes me as a lil odd) including certain people i wished i knew better as well as some things i might have done differently. To sum it up, i didnt dislike being there at IPG, it was just that i didnt find my time there particularly memorable at all=/
On another note, if anyone is wondering where i’ve been for the past few days, the reason for my absence is due to my computer not functioning at the moment. My preciiiooouuussssss diededs on mees yesterdayssss due to unexplained circumstances(i smell the work of gremlins here!). Hopefully, i can get it fixed by this weekend. I have to use my dad’s laptop now for the task of typing this out but i had to hijack the internet from my own computer to do it.

We iz randomes!

May 14th, 2007 by jayden-yang

Well i had something else to post up but it didnt turn out the way i hoped so instead i’ll juz do something random…

Randomness #1: I dislike Eminem. Now. I liked him back when he was doing his "Slim Shady" thing with my favourite song being "Stan" but now he’s juz gotten way too emo. Here’s an example of what i’m refering to: Linkage. Of course, one might argue that he’s always been bitching bout something, but there was something rather poetic and clever bout his songs then. NOW, he’s juz plain whiny.

Randomness #2: I miss the Spice Girls though i’ve never actually been a fan of them. They epitomised pure, wholesome pop girlyness and stayed true to themselves right till to the end…more or less. Avril in her current "rediscovered inner teen" state juz doesnt cut it and definitely not, heaven forbid, the PussyCat Dolls(Horror!).

Randomness #3: If you’ve read my last post, you already know what this is about but i’d juz like to highlight this particular one, if you happened to miss it, because it really shows Stephen of Tyler at his best.

Randomness #4: Shit happens. Dont forget to flush afterwards.

Randomness #5: Is there a proper plural form of the word random rather than going randoms, or randomz, or even randomes?

Here are some D&D related videos for your entertainment! However, if you dont know what D&D means in the first place, then you probably wont get the full impact of most of the jokes. Anyway, these videos are part of a series of "D&D Public Service Announcements", though i’ve no idea what the PHB in the title actually stands for. It’s quite an extensive series with the current count at 20 videos with more on the way i presume. So for easier perusal i’ll highlight some of the more noteworthy ones. Enjoy=)
Note: Some of the jokes actually overlap throughout the videos, so it might be good to watch them in order, though it isnt absolutely necessary

Part 1 (To get the ball rolling and oh Sneak Attack!)
Part 2 (Boobies! Nah, not really…)
Part 3 (For Wai Yin…in memory of Johnny…and Johnson…and Johnnus…)
Part 4 (For urm…people with "certain" special fantasies involving belts. Note: Dont drink anything if you’re watching this)
Part 5 (For Chern…yes, she worships Heironeous too=P)
Part 6 (For Jia…cause he needs some good spanking by the WarDuke!XD)
Part 14 (
Heavy ARMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRR!!!)
Part 15 (Why being a Dungeon Master is awesome!=D)

These, on the other hand are more for the uninitiated
Part 16 (For fans of Legolas)
Something else (A lil guide to what D&D is about…but mostly cause the Chaos Dragon is so cute and adorable!!XD)

Cops and Robbers

April 29th, 2007 by jayden-yang

Well it seems that Wai Yin has beat me to the blog, but no matter, each of us will have our own lil story to tell…
This morning at around 3, after a night of gaming at Chern’s place, the four of us(Jia, Chern, Wai Yin, and i) decided to have supper. Choosing to patronize a certain mamak stall near Jia’s place, we became rather tempted to indulge certain antics in jest…but unfortunately we didnt have the guts to try it out¯\(o.0)/¯

But that’s not what this story is about. The true encounter comes later after we had finished with our supper. After waving goodbye to Jia, the remainder of us proceeded to walk to where Wai Yin had parked his car. Getting in, we were almost immediately set upon by the "Harpies of the Law"! 2 motorcyclists placed their bikes to prevent the car from coming out of its parking slot! This could only mean one thing: Roll Initiative!! With their first attacks, they whipped out their "Badges of Authority" and tried to lull us into a false sense of security. Fortunately, we passed our Will saves and would not succumb to their rhetoric. We then struck back with a good ass-whooping serving of "Statement of Civil Rights"!^^
Anyway, to continue on a more realistic note, the two demanded to see our IDs. Knowing we havent done any wrong, we resisted, all the time in intense suspicion of the supposed "policemen". Some bargaining ensued to which point, the two decided to call for back-up. The minutes ticked by until finally a police car arrived at the scene. In agreement that the possibility of the rogues faking a police car was beyond realistic approach, we subjected ourselves to their wills, so to speak. After some verifications, clarifications and explanations(which included a strip search with accompanying nude squatsXD), our allegiance on the side of Good was acknowledged and we were released without further event.
The moral of the story? Being a potential juvenile delinquent makes for good blogging, be careful when adventuring out late at night, and friends are good to have in situations such as these(even if we had to bear witness to that awful tattoo on Chern’s ass…).
There are certain points which i glossed over or simply failed to mention so if you’re particularly interested, read Wai Yin’s blog - the link is posted above, and stay tuned for Chern’s side of the story which should be due before the the of today=)

7-Up

April 12th, 2007 by jayden-yang

I saw this particular pic in the blog section of the Sheldon webcomic today. Apparently it’s an ad for 7-Up back in the 1950s and i have to agree that as seemingly cute it is, it’s pretty disturbing as well…
55sevenupItems of interest(not written by me):
-That baby is not only drinking 7-Up, he’s chugging that bottle whole hog
-Closer examination of the 7-Up bottle in the foreground reveals a
coagulated mass of green ooze floating in the center. (Original
formula, perhaps?)
-There is, for reasons unknown, a tiny little lamb in the ad. Perhaps to
underscore that down-home, lamb-shank flavor in every delicious bottle
of 7-Up.
-Apparently, at one point, the tagline "Nothing does it like Seven-Up!" was considered fantastically persuasive.
-And finally — and most importantly — there can no longer be any doubt
as to why we Americans are fat. OUR PARENTS WERE FEEDING US 7-UP AT
TWELVE MONTHS, FOR THE LOVE OF PETE!

Arse-face

April 2nd, 2007 by jayden-yang

Well it seems i might have been somewhat hasty in announcing a strip in my last post as those who visited my blog to check for updates can attest to. Sorry about that people. Due to foreseeable circumstances, i ended up too busy to sit down and do the particular strip i had in mind, but since i’m free again i can resume my weekly scheduled erm…schedule. However, i decided not to attempt the strip i had planned to do earlier as i felt i needed to ease back into the flow of it, and anyway, today’s joke would have kinda lost its impact if i had left it longer. About the strip, the idea for it came from something Jocelyn said to me, though if anyone wants to know what that is exactly, they’re gonna have to ask her. So, Jo, this one’s for you. Enjoy=)
